North Providence Housing Authority participates in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Centralized Wait List.  


The Public Housing Association of Rhode Island(PHARI) and Rhode Island Housing  have announced the opening of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) Centralized Wait List Portal.

Applicants are able to apply to the HCVP waiting list(s) for any and all of the participating housing authorities listed below using a single electronic application: 

Bristol, Central Falls, Coventry, Cumberland, East Greenwich, East Providence, Johnston, Lincoln, Newport, North Providence, Pawtucket, Portsmouth, Rhode Island Housing, Smithfield, South Kingstown, Warren, Warwick, and Woonsocket

Applications must be completed and submitted electronically through the Centralized Wait List online application portal, accessible at The application portal will be available beginning Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:01 a.m., and will remain open indefinitely.


Rhode Island Housing’s electronic application portal is the sole method of submitting an application. Applications that are mailed, faxed, e-mailed, or hand delivered will not be processed. Computer terminals and staff assistance will be made available to applicants at participating community organizations.


To be determined “conditionally eligible” and placed on one or more waiting lists, applicants must fall within each agency’s maximum annual income limits for their household size. Conditionally eligible applicants will be placed on the applicable waiting lists based on the date and time that they apply and any selection preferences established by each housing authority.
